As possible, I will fill you in on the places we visit.
Munich - A trip to follow Jacob's football team leads us to Munchen. The Marriott has an American buffet breakfast. We went to the Marionplatz for the scenery and shopping. No malls in Munich, all shopping is downtown. The next day the Deutsches Museum, the German Smithsonian.
Mediterranean Sea Cruise - We sailed abord the MSC Opera from Genoa, Italy to:
Naples - Jim gets to see where is father departed Italy from. We walk up and down Via Roma check out the shopping and the sights. Have lunch at an outdoor cafe and meet a wonderful old Italian gentleman. Our broken Italian his broken English, it was a wonderful day.
Palermo, Sicily - The Cathedral of Monteale is wonderful.
Tunis, Tunisia - Our first visit to Africa. A visit to the blue and white city of Sidi Bou Said and then shopping the the Medina.
Palma - We saw a night show, SonAmar, that was memorable.
Barcelona - We saw Gaudi's unfinished Sagrada Familia, the Olympic sights and walked the harbor.
Marseille - We finished in Marseille with a walk through the city and lunch on the harbor.
Vienna - Fall break 2 finds us again following Jacob for football to Vienna. A very cold weekend in a wonderful very French looking city.
Zurich - Jacob's basketball takes us to Zurich. The Christmas market in the train station is very nice.
Garmish - For ski week we are fortunate to spend it at Edelweiss Lodge in the German Alps. This resort is own by our US government for our soldiers and government employees. Our slice of America in Germany. The skiing is good.
USA - A speed trip to the US for Easter. We almost do not make the connection in Cincinnati due to snow in Erie.
Paris - Maria joins us with our wonderful host, Dave, for a few days in our favorite city, Paris. The usual sights are seen - the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Arc de Triomphe. A great time.
Barcelona - A long weekend in Barcelona. We first visit Port Adventura, a theme park an hour outside of Barcelona. Finally sun and beach. Then a few days in Barcelona lead us to Tappas on the harbor.
